The Willoughby Leisure Centre’s Sports Hall and group fitness program will continue to operate, but its Pool Hall and Health Club are now shut during the major upgrades. The revised construction timeline anticipates the Health Club reopening in 2026.

The Sports Hall at Willoughby Leisure Centre will be temporarily closed from Monday 30 March to Saturday 18 April 2026 to allow for court renewal works which includes sanding of the timber flooring and relining of court markings. Classes are set to resume in the Sports Hall on Sunday 19 April 2026.
The works are scheduled during the school holidays and Easter long weekend, when bookings and member activity is typically lower, minimising disruption to our community.
The courts will not be available for hire during this period from 30 March to 18 April.
During the Sports Hall closure, classes will continue to run at the Barry Thompson Community Hall under a revised timetable, with the online booking system updated to reflect these changes.

Council will be considering ongoing membership discounts that recognise loyal customers during the WLC refurbishment.
