Gentle Exercise Classes

The Willoughby Leisure Centre offers a range of gentle exercise classes ideal for people recovering from an injury or those looking for exercises that are gentle on the joints.

Aqua classes use the resistance of the water to give you a total body workout. The buoyancy of the water also means there is no impact or jarring on the joints. Aqua classes are great for recovery and re-introduction to exercise and ideal for all ages and fitness levels.

Basic Low is a strength and flexibility class designed specifically for the over 50s and is suitable for all levels of fitness. The class involves simple movements, low impact aerobics and light hand weights.

A Senior Gentle Exercise is also held at the Centre and at the Joe Ciantar Studio. The class involves gentle movements and increases flexibility, fitness, strength and range of movement through a variety of simple exercises.

Senior Circuit is an exercise program that has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the over 50's. This class will take place in the Health Club and will focus on developing strength, muscle tone and balance while increasing fitness levels with light resistance and cardiovascular training. Please note: Spots are limited to 10 people per class. Please book at Health Club desk. Classes commence Wednesday 10 June 2015.
