About Us

At the Willoughby Leisure Centre we put your wellbeing first to help you achieve your goals, whether you are wanting to loose weight, improve your health and fitness, learn to swim, entertain the kids or just enjoy the centre.

Operated by Willoughby City Council, the centre is one of Willoughby's most valued facilities, providing aquatic facilities and services, health club facilities and sports courts to the community.

Opened in 1990, the centre hosts more than 540,000 visitors annually. The Willoughby Leisure Centre Master Plan will see the centre provide the next generation of sporting and recreation facilities with a number of upgrades planned for the centre.

The centre has undertaken a number of steps to reduce the centre's environmental footprint. Recent energy conservation measures installed have resulted in lower operational costs and more importantly a significant reduction in the centre's carbon dioxide emissions. A cogeneration system using a turbine to generate electricity from natural gas and using thermal energy for the pool, will soon be installed.
