WLC Run Club 10 Week Program

WLC Run Club is designed for all levels of fitness and running ability. Whether you are running to train and compete in an event, for fitness, or fun, there's something for everyone.

Dates: Saturday 6 March - Saturday 8 May 2010

Time: 6:30am - 7:30am

Cost: $75 for members, $150 for non-members (A 20% discount will apply for previous WLC Run Club Members)

Training for an event 

For those who are keen to train and participate in an event, the program will offer longer runs for those interested in competing in the SMH Half Marathin on Sunday 16th May. There is also the Lindfield Fun Run 10 km on Sunday 28th March.

Routes

Runs will vary in distance and terrain every week with each course having options to suit different levels of fitness and running experience but will be based around Willoughby Leisure Centre and the surrounding suburbs.

Where & When

Every Saturday at 6.30am SHARP. Meet at the WLC Entrance on the first day. As the Centre is not open until 7am, make sure you bring water with you and have used the bathroom before you arrive.

Running Gear

  1. Good comfortable running shoes are the most important item you'll need. Depending on how often you run, if you haven't replaced your shoes in 12 months, it might be time to break in a new pair.
  2. Try to wear clothing that breathes - most brands have fabrics that wick away the moisture and are designed to keep you cool or warm depending on the outdoor temerature.
  3. Fluids – water is best carried in a fuel belt or back pack. Carrying a bottle can throw your stride off and become annoying. Try to hydrate well before running.
